Concordia is delighted to announce that UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova has joined the Leadership Council.
Ms. Bokova’s leadership and involvement in Concordia’s community is instrumental, as 2017 brings no shortage of challenges facing the global community. She has been an advocate for education equality across Europe and has a proven record of using her multilateral influence to promote public-private partnerships for positive societal impact.
Ms. Bokova commented, “I am honoured to work ever more closely with Concordia, in a shared commitment to promote a more peaceful and inclusive world for all, by engaging a wide array of international actors, and by benefiting from their advice and longstanding experience.”
“We admire Ms. Bokova’s many accomplishments to advance gender equality and education, as well as her efforts to combat terrorism and discrimination. We are excited to work closely with her to create social impact through meaningful public-private partnerships,” said Concordia Co-Founders Matthew Swift and Nicholas Logothetis.
Ms. Bokova shares Concordia’s goal of engaging the global community for collaboration and will bring a new and experienced perspective to the Leadership Council. You can read Ms. Bokova’s bio here, as well as a special piece on her engagement with Concordia at the 2016 Annual Summit here.
