Nili Sarit Yossinger is the Executive Director of Refugee Congress, the only national advocacy organization that is built and led by refugees and asylees. As Executive Director, she oversees the implementation of the organization’s strategic goals and objectives, building and managing partnerships across sectors and as part of multiple national coalitions, and directing funding, communications, and advocacy strategies that fulfill the organization’s mission of ensuring that wherever conversations take place that impact refugee communities, refugees are equal partners at the table.

Prior to her work with Refugee Congress, Nili was a Research Project Manager at the Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM) and the Senior Vice President for Research at Georgetown University, with core projects that focused on food security and food supply chain safety in Europe and the Persian Gulf region, the use of open-source data to forecast forced migration, and the impact of protracted refugee crises on environmental degradation and natural resource management in Central and Horn of Africa.

Nili previously worked with the Capital Area Food Bank, the UN Refugee Agency in Washington, D.C., and Human Rights First. She holds a BA in International Studies from Loyola University Chicago and an MA in German and European Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, with a Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies from ISIM.
