Martha L. Aponte is an international development professional with over 20 years of experience. She is driven by a passion for creating greater social impact and economic success through her experience as development and policy advisor, as well as her knowledge about private sector engagement, shared value, management and leadership and women’s contributions in all levels of society. She has a long career within the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and her vision and knowledge as a leader has been shaped by multiple assignments in different regional bureaus including Deputy Director in Colombia, Director of the Office of Acquisition and Assistance in Colombia, Deputy Director of the Regional Office of Procurement at the Regional Development Mission for Asia in Thailand, Contracting Officer in Pakistan, and also Regional Contracting Officer at the Regional Service Center located in Hungary. She joined the U.S. Southern Command team in November 2021.
Ms. Aponte earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of our Lady of the Rosary, Bogota, Colombia and a Master Certificate in Government Contracting from the George Washington University, School of Business.
