Maria José Ochoa is originally from Colombia and is pursuing an Economics and International Business undergraduate degree from Universidad ICESI.
Before joining Concordia, Maria José worked as a Research Assistant at PROESA – Research Center for Social Protection and Health Economics – generating relevant evidence for policy making on social protection and health economics, both at the national and international levels. Maria José has also collaborated with CIENFI – The Research Center in Economics and Finance at Universidad ICESI – in several projects, and collaborated co-authoring a book on education and the level of bilingualism in Colombia.
Maria José previously interned at advertising and marketing agency Young&Rubicam as a strategic planning intern.
She has a keen interest on development economics and education, as well as public policy in Latin American countries.
