Doug Maguire brings over 20 years of experience providing investment advisory services, risk mitigation strategies, international government affairs support and strategic philanthropy guidance for corporations, private equity firms, international aid agencies, NGO’s, foundations, and universities operating in emerging markets.

Through his ongoing work with international aid agencies and international financial institutions, Doug maintains close ties with the leadership within the World Bank, IDB, ADB, AfDB, USAID, State Department, Department of Defense (Africom/Centcom), U.S. Treasury, OPIC, ExIm, Department of Commerce and key global foundations and NGO’s active in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

Beginning his career with the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency of the World Bank Group, Doug has worked in over 35 countries across Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East with a concentration on investments and aid funding in infrastructure, extractive industries, health, education, environment and telecommunications.

Prior to joining Brownstein, Doug was a Senior Advisor on USAID, World Bank, DFAT, and DFID-funded projects in S. Sudan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Mali, Liberia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Rwanda, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Colombia, Honduras, Poland, Georgia, India, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Myanmar. In addition, Doug worked in Central Europe for an early stage venture capital fund focused on mobile technologies.
