Dr. Galán Sarmiento is a Cardiologist from the Colombian School of Medicine – El Bosque University and Master in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government of Harvard. Complementary studies in Non-Invasive Cardiology and Health Economics. Dr. Galán Sarmiento has served as Minister of Health and Ambassador of Colombia to UNESCO. He has been a trade union leader of insurance entities in health and hospital institutions, as well as a consultant for the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. Advisor to various agents of the General Social Security System. Extensive exercise of cardiology. Extensive experience in the design, implementation and administration of public health and social security policies. Currently Director of the Observatory “Vamos Vamos en Salud”.
