In honor of International Youth Day, we invited you to join us for this Concordia Live dialogue on the importance of youth empowerment and civic engagement. As our world grapples with issues that will inevitably determine the future world for today’s youth, the need for youth leadership and engagement remains more important than ever.  

Despite the reality that these pressing challenges will have the greatest effect on the youth, young people around the world remain disproportionately represented in government, suppressing their opportunity to share their unique perspectives. Evidence reveals that youth participation in advocacy efforts and the political process proves critical to promoting democratic governance and achieving social advancement. Therefore, the future progress of younger generations depends on our willingness to empower them. 

This critical discussion in partnership with LINK Strategic Partners brought together youth engagement activists, young leaders, and young elected officials to showcase the importance of youth leadership.  We followed their first-hand journey toward creating positive change for the future, and learned how you can create meaningful change by providing young individuals with the necessary experiences and platforms to become effective leaders for the future.
