Nancy Brinker, the Susan G. Komen organization’s founder and global consultant, discussed cancer research at the 2016 Concordia Summit. The goal was to identify ways to elevate cancer research and prevention as a global priority. According to Brinker, there needs to be better detection and diagnostics. The organization wants to cut cancer related death by 50% and announced new research grants that will accelerate the understanding of key areas in breast cancer research.

“Competition is healthy. The issue is how to collaborate,” Nancy Brinker, told Yahoo Finance when discussing cancer research at the 2016 Concordia Summit in New York City.
