On September 20th, billionaire George Soros announced a pledge of $500 million to address global migration challenges. He spoke about it publicly for the first time at the 2016 Concordia Summit in a keynote address, noting that the private sector has a key role to play in alleviating the crisis.
“I have decided to earmark $500 million for investments that specifically address the needs of migrants, refugees and host communities,” Soros stated.
