Concordia, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization focused on promoting effective and sustainable public-private collaboration, is excited to announce the appointment of former New York State Governor David Paterson to the Concordia Leadership Council. 

Mr. Paterson served as the 55th Governor of New York State and now serves as a member of the American Foundation for the Blind as well as board member of the Achilles Track Club. He has served as a member of the Democratic National Committee and as the Chairman of the Coalition of Northeast Governors (CONEG). Mr. Paterson is New York State’s first African American governor and the second legally blind governor in the nation’s history.

“Concordia is very please to have someone join our Leadership Council with Governor Paterson’s understanding of politics and government,” said Concordia Co-Founders Matthew Swift and Nicholas Logothetis. “Governor Paterson is a recognized government leader with valuable experience facilitating and building public-private partnerships. His position on the Leadership Council will be asset to all Concordia stakeholders.”

Throughout his career, Governor Paterson has demanded and achieved change, reaching across party lines and bringing people together. He has led the charge on several crucial issues, achieving legislation for a $600 million New York stem cell research initiative, putting forth a statewide renewable energy strategy, insisting on strong action to combat domestic violence, and serving as the primary champion for minority and women-owned businesses in New York.
