Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd Joins the Concordia Leadership Council

Concordia, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization focused on promoting effective and sustainable public-private collaboration, is excited to announce the appointment of former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to the Concordia Leadership Council.

Mr. Rudd twice served as the Prime Minister of Australia, first from 2007-2010 and again in 2013, and has now been named a Senior Fellow with Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Mr. Rudd’s distinguished career in politics and government brings a wealth of practical experience as well as a unique outlook on a range of international challenges.

Concordia Co-Founders Matthew Swift and Nicholas Logothetis, along with the Leadership Council welcome Mr. Rudd: “We are extremely honored to have Mr. Rudd joining the Concordia Leadership Council. Prime Minister Rudd is a vivid example of a dynamic and committed public servant. As a former prime minister, he brings distinctive knowledge of the problems the world is facing and the wherewithal and understanding to solve them. Dobriansky. “His profound knowledge of national security issues and strong support of private sector innovation will be of immense benefit to Concordia’s core mission of advancing effective and sustainable public-private collaboration.”

As Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. Rudd successfully led its economy during the global financial crisis, his actions are viewed as some of the most effective in the world with Australian economy not going into recession. Mr. Rudd is also internationally recognized as one of the founders of the G20 which drove the global response to the crisis. He was a co-author of the recent report of the UN Secretary General’s High Level Panel on Global Sustainability, “Resilient People, Resilient Planet” and chairs the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Fragile States. As the newest member of the Concordia Leadership Council, Mr. Rudd will lend his lifetime of government experience to help strengthen Concordia’s mission.
