Concordia and the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) are partnering to bring Blockchain Central, the GBBC’s signature event series, to the 2018 Concordia Annual Summit for two full days of blockchain-related programming.
This year-round programming partnership seeks to create a platform for leading companies and entrepreneurs to present the potential of blockchain technology in creating more secure, equitable, and functional societies. Through innovative programming, the two organizations will engage the public sector in better understanding the technology in order to make informed policy decisions related to blockchain. Additionally, this partnership aims to build a community of leaders and experts that can explore the power of blockchain for social impact and construct cross-sector partnerships that incorporate blockchain technology to address pressing global issues.
This partnership will accomplish these goals by co-hosting Blockchain Central, a GBBC brand and traveling event series, at the 2018 Concordia Annual Summit. Operating as a Summit within the larger Concordia Annual Summit, Blockchain Central will be the premier venue during UNGA for all things blockchain, including blockchain-specific programming and a Blockchain Central Lounge for networking and demonstrations throughout the conference. Small roundtables, strategic dialogues, and high-level plenary sessions will allow for a range of discussions by the leading voices in this groundbreaking field and create unmatched opportunities for innovators to collaborate with policymakers and business leaders. Blockchain Central will only be accessible to Concordia Members and people who purchase a Blockchain Central ticket.
Topics of Blockchain Central will include blockchain solutions for Fortune 500 companies, how cryptocurrencies can fund the SDGs, crowdsourcing impact measurement through blockchain, embracing blockchain solutions for citizens, net neutrality and data privacy, distributed healthcare, and empowering global cities.
GBBC is the leading trade association for the blockchain technology ecosystem, which brings together innovative organizations and thought leaders from over 40 countries to advance understanding of blockchain technology amongst global regulators and business leaders. Formally launched during the 2017 Annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, GBBC is dedicated to furthering the adoption of blockchain technology through engaging regulators, business leaders, and global changemakers on how to harness this groundbreaking tool.
