Concordia is proud to announce the addition of Hologic, Inc. to its community as a Patron Sponsor and supporter of the 2021 Annual Summit.
A global leader and champion of women’s health for more than 30 years, Hologic produces innovative, science-backed products that help professionals around the world detect, diagnose, and treat illnesses and health conditions earlier and more effectively. Hologic’s “Purpose, Passion, and Promise” extends to key partnerships with organizations including the President’s Emergency Action Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the Black Women’s Health Imperative to ensure that communities worldwide have access to best-in-class testing, screening, and early detection.
Amid the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hologic partnered with Gallup, Inc. to create the first global measure to track the progress of women’s health: the Hologic Global Women’s Health Index. Based on individual responses from more than 120,000 people across 116 countries and representing 93% of the world’s population, the Index will provide not only unique insights on important women’s health issues, but also a framework to prioritize and address women’s health as an urgent public health and policy issue.
“The wellbeing of the entire population has been affected by today’s pandemic, but research shows that women have been disproportionately impacted,” commented Matthew Swift, Concordia’s Co-Founder & CEO. “A pioneer in its field, Hologic has created the Women’s Health Index to prioritize women’s health as the world emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic. I look forward to collaborating with this leading company to improve the health and quality of women’s lives everywhere.”
Falling under Concordia’s Health Disparities, Recovery & Resilience programming theme, Hologic will host a Main Stage session at the 2021 Concordia Annual Summit that will call for global leaders to stand together to improve women’s health and quality of life.
“We’re proud to partner with Concordia to help prioritize women’s health around the world,” said Steve MacMillan, Hologic’s Chief Executive Officer. “Women’s health is the cornerstone of healthy families, communities, societies, and economies, and we urge global healthcare and government leaders to use the findings of our Hologic Global Women’s Health Index to guide efforts to improve the quality and longevity of life for women.”
