Marking a significant development in the growth of the Leadership Council, Concordia is pleased to announce the appointment of Sherrie Westin, President & Interim CEO of Sesame Workshop, as its latest member. 

“Sherrie has been deeply involved in Concordia for a number of years now, both in her individual role as Senior Advisor and through the work of Sesame Workshop, the global impact nonprofit behind Sesame Street,commented Matthew Swift, Co-Founder, President & CEO of Concordia. “Through her leadership in implementing numerous groundbreaking initiatives, Sherrie has brought light to so many children and their communities around the world by opening doors to education, and doing so with compassion and understanding at the forefront. Welcome, Sherrie!”

Westin leads Sesame Workshop’s efforts to provide impactful early learning through a broad variety of media, as well as targeted social impact and research initiatives that address a wide range of critical issues facing children and families around the world. She has spearheaded a number of groundbreaking initiatives, including Ahlan Simsim, a partnership with the International Rescue Committee to bring critical early education to children in the Syrian response region, which was awarded the MacArthur Foundation’s first-ever $100 million grant, creating the largest early childhood intervention in the history of humanitarian response. With a proven track record in media, nonprofit, and public service, Sherrie brings a wealth of insight and expertise, making her a valuable addition to our team.
