Marking an important organizational development, Concordia is pleased to announce the appointment of General Wesley Clark to its Leadership Council. A decorated veteran with a distinguished career devoted to public service, General Clark has demonstrated a remarkable body of work and will bring a distinct perspective to Concordia’s governing body.
An invaluable thought leader, General Clark is one of the nation’s leading voices on issues relating to defense & security, democracy & human rights, and foreign policy. A retired Four Star United States Army Officer, Clark commanded Operation Allied Force during the Kosovo War during his term as the Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO from 1997 to 2000. Prior to this, General Clark attained various merits in academics, graduating first in his class at West Point and from there attaining degrees Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University (B.A. and M.A.) as a Rhodes scholar. In 2019, Clark founded Renew America Together, a nonprofit organization designed to promote and achieve greater common ground in America by reducing partisan division and gridlock.
“I am honored to join the Concordia team as they work to convene leaders to work towards progress and common ground during these complex and challenging times,” said General Clark.
“General Clark has demonstrated a life-long commitment to his country, both as an active service member and now as one of the nation’s most valued thought leaders on the many crises we face,” commented Concordia CEO & Co-Founder Matthew Swift. “With experience spanning from the battlefield to the boardroom and the Situation Room, his appointment marks an exciting chapter for Concordia as we build on our regional initiatives and solidify the Annual Summit’s position as the leading nonpartisan forum alongside UNGA.”
