Rwanda Development Board (RDB) is a government institution whose primary mandate is to accelerate Rwanda’s economic development by enabling private sector growth. Since the establishment of the RDB, the private sector has played an instrumental role in driving the country’s economic growth, with Rwanda now ranking second in Africa in the World Bank ‘Doing Business’ Index.
“The primary mandate of the Rwanda Development Board is to accelerate Rwanda’s economic development by enabling private sector growth. We are excited to partner with Concordia in organizing the “2020 Concordia Africa Initiative” which is at the heart of partnership-driven solutions to regional and global challenges.” During the 2020 Annual Summit, the RDB will showcase key insights, priorities, and outputs from the Rwanda Vision 2020, and speak more broadly to the importance of pan-regional and international public-private cooperation for innovation, connectivity, and economic growth.
The RDB will also feature at the upcoming 2020 Africa Initiative, taking place in a digital capacity from November 16-17, which will provide a platform for cross-sector leaders to share strategies and priorities for economic growth and lasting prosperity on the African continent. This year’s event will focus on youth agency and employment solutions, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurship, in addition to the role of e-commerce, education & skills training, diaspora engagement, trade, infrastructure, and local & international investment. We’ll also address the ongoing social and economic inequality challenges that have been exacerbated by today’s pandemic.
