Marking a significant development for the 2023 Europe Summit, Concordia is pleased to collaborate with IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs as a Principal Summit Host Partner. Widely recognized as one of the top international universities in Spain, IE University’s innovative, forward-thinking approach, coupled with its strong global and entrepreneurial focus, make it an ideal partner, with IE Tower, the new vertical, sustainable and technological campus in Madrid, providing the official venue on June 15-16.
Manuel Muñiz, Provost, IE University, and Dean of IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs, said: “With this partnership we continue to forward our mission to address the most pressing challenges of our time through education, debate and open dialogue. We live in an increasingly fractured world, and it is everyone’s job, including that of IE University, to contribute to the convening of diverse and constructive voices, and to putting solutions on the table. We are thrilled to be able to do this with our Concordia colleagues.”
Through Concordia’s Concilium format, the 2023 Europe Summit will bring together 75 decision makers for a set of high-level, closed-door, and interactive conversations centered on the theme of Democracy, Security & Geopolitical Risk, with a particular focus on cyber security, defense, and energy. Key leaders will be positioned in front of an intimate, dynamic audience, with the ultimate aim to foster honest and transparent interaction between the public and private sectors. Crucially, the Summit will prompt collaboration between the public and private sectors, highlighting executives looking to prioritize interaction with national entities and political leaders, with representation from NATO leadership. While conversations will be off the record, participants will have the opportunity to share their perspectives with select reporters in dedicated press breakouts and interviews.
Following the Summit, Concordia will present key findings to Spanish and EU leadership as Spain assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union on July 1, 2023. The 2023 Europe Summit is chaired by H.E. José Manuel Barroso, Chair of Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance and Former President of the European Commission.
