On July 8th, 2015, Concordia will launch its inaugural campaign on labor trafficking. The launch event will focus on the role of business in combatting labor trafficking. Some companies have made great strides in identifying and remedying risks in their supply chains, but others have been hesitant to disclose supplier lists. The conversation will explore why some companies have been active in fighting trafficking while others have not.

Highlighting leaders in the space, the panel will examine whether companies have the power to motivate each other to take action. It will consider the importance of industry alliances and how companies move beyond membership to take substantive action.

The event will take place in Washington, DC and will open with remarks by Senator Heidi Heitkamp. Panelists include The Coca-Cola Company’s Global Manager for Workplace Rights, Genevieve Taft; Verité CEO Dan Viederman; EICC Executive Director, Rob Lederer; and GoodWeave International founding Executive Director, Nina Smith. Kilian Moote of Humanity United’s KnowTheChain project will moderate the conversation.
