The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York (TECO-NY) joins Concordia as a 2021 Lead Programming Partner

Concordia’s Programming Partnership model offers the highest level of engagement at Concordia Summits, and is reserved for non-profits, foundations, and publicly-funded institutions. These highly-collaborative partnerships are specifically designed to maximize visibility, networking, and messaging for the partner organization.

In accordance with Concordia’s Health Disparities, Recovery & Resilience programming theme for the 2021 Annual Summit, this Programming Partnership seeks to support Taiwan’s actions in response to the COVID-19 crisis. It will also highlight the various ways in which Taiwan has transformed itself from a recipient of foreign aid to a provider of international humanitarian assistance.

The “Taiwan Model” for combating COVID-19 has earned it widespread attention and praise. In addition to protecting the health of its people, Taiwan has successfully used the Taiwan Model to support other nations in the fight against the pandemic. Thus, Taiwan has actively promoted the health and well-being of the international community, demonstrating that Taiwan can help and Taiwan is helping. Concordia Members will be encouraged to learn from TECO-NY to inform their own COVID-19 response, as well as to explore collaboration opportunities that support global health and pandemic resilience.

With 2021 being designated as the International Year of Health and Care Workers, Taiwan has paid tribute to health and care workers by incorporating itself into the international disease prevention system and helping the WHO be more effective in its disease prevention efforts.
