Concordia is proud to announce that Carmen Castillo is joining the Nominations Committee of the Concordia Leadership Council

Chaired by Dr. Eduardo Padrón, Ph.D., President Emeritus, Miami Dade College, Concordia’s Nominations Committee features the following Leadership Council Members: John Koudounis, CEO, Calamos Investments; Dr. Kerry Healey, President, Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream; Dikembe Mutombo, Chairman & President, Dikembe Mutombo Foundation; and, Cherie Blair, Founder & Chair, Omnia Strategy. The Committee is responsible for confirming—by a majority vote—new appointments to the Leadership Council each year.

Castillo, who joined the Leadership Council earlier this year, has already made a significant contribution to the development of Concordia and, with a long history in the social impact space, is well placed to guide the growth of the Leadership Council.

Castillo founded SDI International Corporation in Florida in 1992 and, today, the company is one of the largest certified minority- and women-owned procurement outsourcing organizations in the world. Castillo plays a hands-on role in driving the company’s business development, marketing, and strategic direction.

Throughout her career, she’s raised awareness around the benefits of an effective supplier diversity process, particularly in terms of stimulating sales, cost savings, brand equity, job creation, and local economies. A veteran Hispanic businesswoman, Castillo is the immediate past Chair of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC)—a national organization that advocates on behalf of nearly 4.8 million Hispanic-owned businesses—and was also recently named to the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR).
