Concordia is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jay Collins to its Leadership Council. Jay is Vice Chairman of Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory at Citigroup. He has over 30 years of leadership experience at the intersection of international finance, business, and global policy. He is recognized as a leading advisor to global governments on sustainability and climate finance, digital technology, risk, investment, and complex funding solutions. Importantly, throughout his career, Jay has advised government cabinets in crisis and countries under financial duress, including Egypt, Argentina, Greece, Ukraine, Iraq, Ecuador, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Jamaica.

Like other Concordia Leadership Council Members, Jay has also demonstrated a passion for giving back. Since October 2020, Jay has led the team at Citi, as sole financial advisor to Gavi’s COVAX Facility, advising on financial and risk issues related to equitable global distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. He is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University where he teaches “Sustainability, Innovation and Technology” at the graduate level. He is on the Steering Committee for the UN Secretary General’s Global Investors for Sustainable Development and the Board of Trustees of Save the Children. Jay was awarded the US Institute of Peace and C5 “Shield in the Cloud” award for his work fighting global financial crime and corruption, and is a long-time participant in Concordia activities.

Jay has shared his insight numerous times on the Concordia stage. Most recently, Jay spoke at the 2021 Concordia Annual Summit in a discussion on COVID solutions with New York Times Correspondent Dr. Sheri Fink. He also participated in a Concordia Live featuring Seth Berkley, CEO of Gavi, and Gayle Smith, former CEO of the One Campaign and coordinator for COVID Response and Health Security for the U.S. State Department. Jay has also led discussions on Venezuela, 5G security policy, refugees, and ESG for Concordia Members.

Concordia is excited to be working more closely with Jay in his role as a Leadership Council Member. He will bring his unique and broad-based experience to guide Concordia’s continued development.
