Cocktails & Mocktails: A Conversation with Morgan Ortagus and Juan Manuel Barrientos

Concordia Live is a weekly series of webinars that bring various leaders from across the public and private sectors to address the most pressing issues of our time. This discussion will feature the U.S. Department of State Spokesperson, Morgan Ortagus, in conversation with Concordia CEO Matthew Swift. Spokesperson Ortagus and Mr. Swift will delve into the hot-button issues facing the United States and the broader global community. With Morgan’s on-the-ground knowledge of the United States’ day-to-day geopolitical decisions, and Matt’s expertise on the importance of public-private collaboration, the two will discuss a wide range of issues from China’s past and future role in the global pandemic, the pandemic’s impact on Latin America, to how we as a global community can emerge with lessons learned from it all.

Opening the event, world-renowned Colombian chef Juan Manuel Barrientos will introduce the audience to a signature cocktail featured across his restaurants in Latin America. His culinary achievements are not his sole point of pride. Mr. Barrientos has also developed a passion for helping others through his foundation, which teaches wounded Colombian soldiers and ex-guerrilla leaders the culinary skills they need to join the food-service industry in the country.
