As a Partnerships Intern, Sullivan Padgett strategizes engagement and outreach with partners across the globe to advance Concordia’s signature Convene-Connect-Create approach, encouraging cross-sector partnerships for social impact. He aids in data collection and entry efforts, drafts internal and external deliverables, and supports the Partnerships Department with general tasks.
Prior to Concordia, Sullivan interned for the U.S. Senate in a district office, collaborating with staff to oversee housing, transportation, and financial services casework portfolios. He also served as a Joe Moakley Intern for the Massachusetts Democratic Party, where he prepared for the 2023 MassDems Convention and managed electoral software to develop organizing plans for local elections. His past experiences include managing a state senate reelection campaign and interning for the Massachusetts Senate.
Sullivan graduated summa cum laude from St. John’s University in Queens, NY, where he majored in Government and Politics. He studied abroad in Paris, France, and Rome, in addition to conducting original field research on environmental sustainability and indigenous community development in Puerto Rico and Ecuador, respectively. His scholarly contributions have appeared in an international journal and conference. He looks forward to returning to St. John’s University in the 2024-2025 academic year to finish a master’s degree in comparative politics and international relations, working at the Vincentian Institute for Social Action, where he was previously an Ozanam Scholar, and investigating the effects of microloans on budding enterprises in urban Vietnam on a research trip.
A proud Massachusetts native, Sullivan splits his time between New York and New England. He enjoys exploring the outdoors, listening to live music, and learning about cultures and languages.
