Sebastian Junger is the bestselling author of The Perfect Storm, Fire, A Death in Belmont, War, Tribe and Freedom. He covered civil wars in Bosnia, Sierra Leone and Liberia. He first went to Afghanistan in 1996 cover the Taliban takeover and then again 2000 and 2001. He also spent a year, off and on, at a remote American outpost called Restrepo and co-shot, produced and directed a documentary by that name that won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize in 2010 and was nominated for an Oscar. He lives in New York City with his wife and children.
