Degnarain holds degrees in Economics from Cambridge University and Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Formerly with the UK Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit; then management consultant advising governments and companies in Africa on strategy. Degnarain is the Co-Founder of Harvard’s Africa Policy Journal, Harvard University’s first public policy journal with a focus on Africa. He is the Chair on Global Agenda Council on Oceans, World Economic Forum. Economic Adviser to Mauritius on the development of a long-term economic transformation programme to move Mauritius from a middle-income to a high-income country, as well as Africa Strategy.
