Nick Beglinger is Co-Founder and CEO of C21. He supervises the activities of the foundation, sets project and partnership priorities, and ist the main interface with C21’s advisory and foundation boards.
His professional focus area is sustainable development at the crossroads of finance, innovation, and regulation. He addresses competitiveness issues in the light of emission reduction targets and carbon pricing. He monitors technical and regulatory development in all of 
C21’s focus areas. Between late 2009 and early 2016, Nick acted as the president of the Swiss business association swisscleantech and thereby influenced the country’s climate and energy policy. Nick served on the board of the Swiss sustainable building standard Minergie. He is an active member of WWF’s Leaders for Nature, as well as frequently an author and speaker in his focus areas.
Prior to C21, Nick headed Maxmakers’ three year engagement with the Government of Abu Dhabi for the Masdar Project (2007-2009). He was in charge of many advisory engagements with public and private clients in the field of economic and urban planning. His career started at McKinsey & Company in Germany and has taken him to China, Vietnam, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi bevor he returned to Zurich. Nick holds Master degrees in Economics and Management from the London School of Economics (LSE) and the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS / HEC). Nick bikes, plays the piano and soccer with friends, jogs, swims, and kite-surfs.
