Oliver is group Executive Director at ESI Media, which owns The Independent and the London Evening Standard. He was previously an award-winning foreign correspondent, who covered the aftermath of the September 11 attacks and was Baghdad Bureau Chief during the Iraq War. A committee conservationist, he also Executive Director of the wildlife-protecting Giants Club initiative created by the international NGO Space for Giants.
