Mmabatho Maboya is the current Chief Executive Officer of Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation.
Mmabatho joined the Foundation in 2015 as its Strategy and Partnerships Executive. She managed key processes that enabled the Foundation to meaningfully respond to its development partners and beneficiaries.
Mmabatho is an experienced communications and stakeholder relations professional with strong capabilities to link research, strategy and technical expertise to reputation management.
Mmabatho was with Shanduka Group as its Stakeholder Relations Manager prior to joining Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation. She has also spent time as Senior Advisor: Stakeholder Management and as an Intelligence Analyst at Eskom Holdings SOC between 2008 to 2014. She began her senior management career in 2005 in local government.
Mmabatho is deeply committed to improving the quality of education for disadvantaged children. She made good on her own aptitudes for academic and other achievement from an early age. She holds a BSc (Statistics and Geography) from the University of the Free State; BSc Honours (Geography) from the University of South Africa; and an MBA from the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science. She is currently reading for a PhD with UNISA, focusing on the economic, social and environmental role of ultra-distance marathons in growing secondary cities in South Africa. Her interest in this stems from her passion for geography and her strong convictions on knowledge development to resolve Africa’s many challenges.
