Mr. Toomey has also worked to leverage UNDP’s knowledge networking as the foundation for “managed crowd sourcing” techniques, providing actionable data and visualization as an output of large-scale consultations, working towards real-time open collaboration and solution sharing both within UNDP as well as at the service of partner governments and other stakeholders.

Previously, Mr. Toomey led the e-Business and Business Intelligence service groups for UNDP’s Bureau of Management, with work ranging from public digital communications, donor relations and reporting, results based management tools and methods, and transparency initiatives for the Multi-Partner Trust Fund office and others.

Before joining UNDP, Mr. Toomeyworked in the private sector as an Executive Producer in the field of Interactive Advertising, supporting global firms in expanding markets and customer engagement via digital channels and direct-to-consumer marketing techniques.

Mr. Toomey is an American national and holds a Masters of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business, a BA in Philosophy, and certification from the National Outdoor Leadership School in wilderness expedition leadership.
