Matt is a Senior Program Lead at IDEO’s open innovation practice, OpenIDEO.

Matt’s role centers on leading teams that support people in designing solutions to our world’s big challenges. Often this means designing and executing open innovation challenges that source a pipeline of organizations to select for funding. Other times it means creating multi-stakeholder accelerator networks to connect social entrepreneurs with the support they need to thrive.

Matt is currently helping lead the Rockefeller Foundation Food Vision 2050 Prize, to connect and support positive visions for the future of our global food system. Previously, Matt has led innovation programs across many topics including food waste, education in emergencies, and early childhood development.

Matt holds an MBA in Design Strategy from California College of the Arts and a BArch from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

In his spare time, Matt leads a Beatles Choir that sings monthly at a residential hospital in San Francisco, and enjoys shared experiences with his wife Abbie and 1-year-old son, Luke.
