Kevin Kolevar

Kevin Kolevar is Vice President of International Government Affairs and Public Policy for the Dow Chemical Company. Based in Midland, Michigan, Kolevar is responsible for leading Dow’s development of international policy positions, priorities and strategies. He also supports Dow’s geographic government affairs efforts to identify and address regional challenges and opportunities.

Before to moving to Dow, Kolevar was a founder and managing director at ClearView Energy Partners, LLC, an energy research, analysis and consulting firm that helps clients capitalize on energy sector changes through integrated analysis of economic fundamentals, political forces and operational realities.

Prior to establishing ClearView, Kolevar served as the Assistant Secretary for Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability at the United States Department of Energy. On behalf of the Secretary of Energy, Assistant Secretary Kolevar was responsible for the Department of Energy’s efforts to modernize the electric grid through the development and implementation of national policy pertaining to electric grid reliability; the management of research, development, and demonstration activities for “next generation” electric grid infrastructure technologies; and led the Department of Energy’s work with the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies to enhance the security and resiliency of the domestic and international critical energy infrastructure.

Before service in the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, Assistant Secretary Kolevar was chief of staff to the Deputy Secretary of Energy; a senior policy advisor to the Secretary of Energy; and spent over ten years serving as US Senate staff. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
