Kerry Moreland is Vice President Established Areas, Exploration and New Ventures, ExxonMobil Upstream Business Development Company. In this role, she has responsibility for managing the Corporation’s exploration acreage in-and-around established assets and for evaluating new opportunities across a broad geographic spectrum. Kerry previously served as West Africa Exploration Manager and Africa Geoscience Manager for Development and Production, stewarding projects that spanned the frontier to mature asset space across the African continent. Notably, she also served as Exploration Manager for the Guyana/Suriname Basin from 2014 to 2018, where the Corporation announced multiple discoveries, including the world-class Lisa discovery in 2015. ExxonMobil has discovered nearly 9 billion oil equivalent barrels of recoverable resource on the Stabroek Block to date. Kerry began her career at ExxonMobil in 2005 after completing her bachelor’s degree in Geoscience and master’s degrees in Geophysics from the University of Oklahoma. Over her 16-year career, she has worked on projects in more than 25 countries across the globe. Her extensive work in developing countries positioned her as a sustainable development advocate, witnessing firsthand the positive impact of investing in women and the opportunities the energy sector provides to build communities. She is a passionate mentor, actively developing the next generation of energy leaders through the University of Oklahoma Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy Board of Visitors and the School of Geosciences Alumni Advisory Council. Kerry enjoys bowling, golfing and traveling with her family in her free time. She is a native of Oklahoma, and she and her husband live in Texas.
