As MCC’s Vice President of Congressional and Public Affairs, Karen Sessions continues a 30-year career of communications leadership and expertise where she oversees and manages international and domestic public affairs, media relations, public events, the speakers bureau, the creative team and the agency’s public website. She brings to MCC an extensive background in external affairs, public policy, business development and implementing complex architecture in communications technology.

Before joining MCC, Ms. Sessions served as the Chief External Affairs Officer for XG Communities, LLC, a wireless infrastructure firm based in Irvine, California. She currently serves on the board of directors of XG Communities and of the Lazarex Cancer Foundation.

Prior to joining XG Communities, Ms. Sessions spent 26 years with Verizon Communications where she had most recently served as Vice President of Public Policy, Law and Security, which included smart cities, telematics, internet of things, transportation, machine to machine (M2M), healthcare, energy, security and cybersecurity. She also managed stakeholder relationships including business, academics, think tanks, and engineering and standards experts for research and external corporate communications.

Ms. Sessions was the co-founder and board member of the N. Donald Diebel, Jr. M.D. Good Samaritan Fund, an organization established in memory of her late husband, a physician, that serves medically uninsured women and children in central Florida. Ms. Sessions also served as City Commissioner and Vice Mayor for the City of Winter Park, Florida from 2007 to 2010.

Ms. Sessions holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree from the University of South Florida.
