Mr. Joyjit Deb Roy has been a Senior Vice President of Programs at Winrock International Institute For Agricultural Development since September 28, 2015. Mr. Roy has extensive experience conducting a broad range of macroeconomic studies, and has analyzed competitiveness and firm-level operations globally. He served as Senior Vice President of Carana Corporation and also served as its Vice President. Mr. Roy joined CARANA in 2003 to manage its practice in Africa and Asia. He served as Managing Director at ACDI/VOCA, where he supported global projects focused on agribusiness, enterprise development, climate change, food security and other initiatives. His industry expertise includes the food processing and agriculture sectors, trade and investment, as well as transport, logistics and supply-chain sectors. Deb Roy has implemented projects for a variety of partners including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the World Bank. He oversaw CARANA’s trade projects in Western and Southern Africa as well as a Macroeconomic policy reform activity in the Philippines. He served extensively in Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean—in over 30 countries—with a variety of donors including USAID, TDA, the World Bank, ADB and DfID. Mr. Deb Roy earned a Masters degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and also holds a Master’s degree in history from St. Stephen’s College at Delhi University in India.
