John Daunt (JD) is Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for Liquidity Services, the world’s largest B2B e-commerce platform for surplus assets, with nearly $1 billion in annual marketplace sales volume. JD has more than 20 years of experience in senior level sales and operations roles for supply-chain related, online marketplaces. Prior to joining Liquidity Services, JD was a Senior Vice President at FedBid, an online marketplace for procurement with more than $1 billion in marketplace transactions. While at Fedbid, JD was responsible for all commercial sales, marketing and product management.
JD started his career in online marketplaces at FreeMarkets in 1999 and stayed with the company after it was acquired by Ariba in 2003, leaving in 2007 as the top ranked Sales Executive and formerly top ranked Global Account manager.
JD is also a former naval officer and flew more than 300 aerial reconnaissance missions in Asia and the Middle East, led START and INF treaty verification teams conducting ICBM missile inspections in Russia, and was an instructor for Naval Science and Leadership at the United States Naval Academy.
