Jeffrey (Jeff) K. Haidet developed the blueprint for, and facilitated, several mergers of his firm, McKenna Long & Aldridge (originally Long & Aldridge) as its Chairman. The culmination of these combinations was the merger into Dentons US LLP where Jeff now serves as Chairman. Jeff also serves on Denton’s U.S. Regional Board of Directors and Global Board of Directors. Globally, Dentons is the largest law firm in the world with over 9000 lawyers and other professionals. Jeff reports directly to the Dentons Global Chair and CEO. Jeff is a thought leader on the unfolding narrative about law firm evolution and the success of collaborative corporate cultures. Jeff is a senior core member of a highly entrepreneurial leadership team. He provides sound judgment to the members of the Board in order to drive critical decisions primarily focused on the firm’s growth strategies, and provision of the highest level of efficient legal services and related business advice to its clients. Jeff’s executive and management career started as his legal career started at Long & Aldridge in 1985, when he was hand-picked by the firm’s Founder and then-Chairman as his protégé in the firm’s Corporate Transactions Group. Jeff fast tracked into the partnership and became Vice Chairman while maintaining his corporate practice. Jeff continues to counsel some of his very first corporate clients, including being an active member of their Boards of Directors. In Jeff’s law practice, he provides advice regarding domestic and international commercial transactions. He counsels and advises clients on transactional and financial structuring, risk management, government contracts, public policy and regulation, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and industry consolidations. Jeff also acts as chief outside legal counsel to several clients. In this role, he advises clients regarding corporate compliance issues; manages internal investigations and special committee representations. Jeff’s clients are in a broad range of businesses and industries including technology, travel, food and beverage, retail, manufacturing and life science and health. Jeff maintains a U.S. Top Secret status security clearance. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Jeff is committed to, and actively involved in, community leadership. Jeff serves on the Board of the Commerce Club one of the oldest business clubs in the United States. Jeff played a principal role, along with other community leaders, in a strategic alliance that enabled the Club to survive and thrive in the modern marketplace. Jeff has served as Vice Chair and General Counsel to the Points of Light Foundation and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Catholic Community Foundation. Two special pro bono representations to Jeff: acting as Special Counsel to the Archdiocese Of Atlanta and acting as a personal legal advisor to the Archbishop of Atlanta, the Most Rev. Wilton D. Gregory, and acting as General Counsel to the Sea Island G-8 Summit Organizing Committee. Recently Jeff was engaged to act as Care, Inc.’s primary outside pro bono counsel.
