Henry is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the world’s leading performing arts center. In his current role, he oversees the transformation of Lincoln Center, increasing its reach and relevance, and supporting its 10 resident organizations in their service to New York City and beyond.

Previous to his work at Lincoln Center, Henry created the largest global philanthropic movement in history, #GivingTuesday, a collaborative campaign launched to promote a new day of giving after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which has sparked over $7 billion in donations across more than 75 countries worldwide.

Henry is the co-author of the international best-selling book New Power: How Power Works in Our Hyperconnected World–and How to Make it Work for You, which was named one of the “10 Ideas to Change the World” by CNN. His book has influenced business leaders and organizations across the world through its study of global power shifting, challenging traditional leadership, and analyzing how to harness its energy in the emerging dynamic of open, participatory, and peer-driven power. Henry previously served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the 92nd Street Y for 11 years, where he spearheaded the reshaping of new initiatives that created measurably positive impacts, enhancing its ability to serve the community and bring people together to participate in civic life—and earning the 143-year-old organization a place on Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies” list.

Henry’s leadership of arts and culture institutions has fostered a strong bond between the organizations he’s led and their commitments to communities across New York City–ensuring that the performing arts transforms lives, forges mutual understanding, and strengthens our society. Henry is a graduate of the University of Durham and Harvard Kennedy School, and is a Senior Fellow at the United Nations Foundation. He currently resides in New York City.
