Sandra Granger is the Vice-Chair of the Spouses of Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Leaders Action Network (SCLAN) which focusses on reducing adolescent pregnancy, cervical cancer, mother to child transmission of HIV and domestic violence in the Caribbean.
She is committed to human rights – particularly women’s and children’s rights – and is engaged in projects aimed at improving their opportunities through education. She recognizes the importance of preparing Guyanese youth for future employment and is deeply involved in STEMGuyana which exposes young people to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, including robotics, coding and scratch programming.

She facilitates women’s empowerment through workshops aimed at improving their self-reliance and success in business, child care and care of seniors. She promotes inter-generational interaction through programmes pairing adolescent mothers with senior citizens. She also collaborates with non-governmental organisations for the reintegration of adolescent mothers into the education system and for their social and economic development.

She is a Champion of the Every Caribbean Woman Every Caribbean Child Initiative; a Champion for Change against HIV/AIDS Stigma and Discrimination of the PanCaribbean Partnership against HIV/AIDS (PANCAP); and and a Champion of the Food and Agriculture Organisation’s Sustainable School Feeding Programme.

Mrs. Granger also serves as the patron of Women Across Differences, The Guyana Foundation, the Guyana Girl Guides Association and the Step by Step Foundation.
