Dr. Kerstin Jonsson Cissé

Mrs. Kerstin Jonsson Cissé heads the Unit for Global Sustainable Economic Development at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and is responsible for the implementation of the strategy on Global Action for Sustainable Economic Development. The strategy includes supporting increased and improved access to ICTs for all on the global level, free and fair trade, agriculture, private sector development, entrepreneurship and innovation. Sida strives to always leverage digital as a cross cutting issue to maximize impact.

Prior to her current role, Mrs. Cissé has, among other things, worked as the Lead Policy Specialist on Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security and was Country Director for the Sida’s cooperation with Mali and Burkina Faso. Mrs Cissé has spent 11 years in West Africa working with agroforestry, humanitarian and post-conflict development cooperation.

Mrs. Cissé holds a doctoral degree from the Swedish University of Agriculture Sciences with focus on agroforestry and soil science and her doctoral thesis focused on Burkina Faso and Tanzania. Mrs. Cissé is particularly interested in Digital Transformation
