Dr. Marin-Müller is an expert in the area of molecular oncology. He is Founder and CEO of Speratum where he leads a team of scientists developing novel technologies to fight cancer. Christian received his B.S. degree in Molecular Biology from Florida Institute of Technology in 2003, and an M.S. in Biotechnology-based Entrepreneurship from Case Western in 2006. At age 23 he co-founded Superior Scientific, a biotechnology company based in Cleveland, OH, that developed proprietary laboratory-based mutation detection technology as well as provided laboratory consumables and equipment to customers throughout the United States and internationally. He obtained his Ph.D. in Molecular Virology and Microbiology from Baylor College of Medicine in 2011, during which time he worked as a research consultant and scientist for several biotechnology companies in fields as varied as HIV vaccine development and molecular vector design. His work on microRNAs has earned him numerous first place awards for outstanding research and presentations. Christian holds multiple US patents. He is a fellow in the Central American Leadership Initiative (CALI), part of the Aspen Institute. and a member of the Scientific Ethics Committee of the Ministry of Health in Costa Rica and a founding member of CRBiomed, the first biotechnology and medical device cluster in the region.
