Dr Onoja has become a common name in the Agricultural sector of the Nigeria, as the Brand-driver of the famous Value Chain Development Programme of the Federal Government of Nigeria that has been assisted by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)
Over the years, he has served in the agricultural sector of Nigeria in various capacity and has shown great trend of achievement as he progress up the ladder in the sector, since his engagement as Evaluation officer, he has grown to become planning officer, senior planning officer, principal planning officer, Chief planning Officer, and Head of the Planning Unit. He was later appointed the Director of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, a position he held before his elevation to the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kogi state Agricultural development project a World Bank – assisted project. He successfully served in that capacity for about sixteen coordinating the implementation of Project objectives through Six(6) Sub-Programmes and covering four Zones in the state.
For over 25 years he has been involved at management level in the implementation of agriculture and rural development projects focused on the improvement of the livelihood of rural poor people, especially women and youth.
Dr Onoja is currently the National Programme Coordinator IFAD assisted Value Chain Development Program covering Six (6) participating States of Anambra, Benue, Ebonyi, Niger, Ogun and Taraba. As a result of the impressive performance of the project, IFAD has provided additional funds for its expansion to additional three (3) States of Kogi Nasarawa and Enugu.
He has Multi-Disciplinary qualifications with a First degree and a PhD in Agricultural Economics in addition to an MBA in Finance and Postgraduate Diploma in Management he is married and has four Children.
