DeAnn McGrew, Winrock’s Director of Agriculture and Volunteer Programs, is responsible for the overall technical, financial and operational management of projects within the Agriculture & Volunteer Programs Unit — a global portfolio of international agriculture activities. She supports managers and provides advice and counsel on best practices in the agriculture sector. McGrew has more than 15 years of experience designing and implementing rural development projects in agriculture and food security, market systems, enterprise development, and democracy and governance in more than 25 countries. She has been leading the organization’s engagement efforts with Cuba since 2015. Previously, as Winrock’s director of volunteer technical assistance, she led the organization’s activities in skilled volunteer programming, and as Winrock’s senior program officer, she managed skills-based volunteer activities in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including the USAID-funded Farmer-to-Farmer program. McGrew has been actively involved with this popular program for much of her career at Winrock, responsible for its overall design and implementation as well as its day-to-day management. McGrew has also supported two Winrock-implemented, USAID-funded programs in South Sudan: Building Responsibility for the Delivery of Government Services (BRIDGE) and Agricultural Market and Enterprise Development (AMED). She has a B.A. in history and sociology from the University of Central Arkansas.
