Aubrey is an adviser to investors with interests in African markets. She is a Senior Fellow at the Africa Center at the Atlantic Council and the co-author of the award-winning book, The Next Africa (Macmillan, July 2015).
Aubrey has a successful track record in investing in early stage companies, African market entry, project/deal identification, investment facilitation, and experience in the tech, infrastructure, energy, agribusiness, financial services, FMCG, and textiles/apparel sectors. She is a co-founder of insiderPR, a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the Board of Invest Africa USA.
Aubrey served as the Managing Director of the Whitaker Group, where she helped facilitate over $2 billion in investment and capital flows to Africa. Aubrey has consulted extensively in 30+ African markets (including Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and South Africa). Over the past 15 years, Aubrey has regularly led CEO-level delegations to African countries and coordinated presidential visits to the United States.
Passionate about strengthening relations with African countries, she works to ensure Africa is kept on the US foreign policy agenda. Aubrey writes regularly for outlets including the Financial Times and Axios.
