Ashley is the National Excise Tax Practice Leader for Ernst & Young, leading teams across the US as well as in EY’s Global Delivery Service talent hub in Bengaluru, India. Ashley manages federal and state excise tax compliance, consulting, and audit engagements across a wide range of excise tax areas including motor fuel, air transportation, alcohol, tobacco, firearms and ammunition. With a green belt in Six Sigma, she has implemented various process improvement initiatives on her engagements.
Ashley has over twenty years of experience in Big Four public accounting and has developed a broad based skill set over the course her career. Her career includes specialization in US state and local income tax with a focus on restructuring, financial services with a focus on alternative investment funds and a two year rotation with National Tax Quality & Risk Management where she led efforts to educate the Tax Practice on IRS Circular 230 and taxpayer and preparer penalties. Ashley effected tax law change, participating in a task force that met with representatives from the U.S. Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service, resulting in the issuance of a Revenue Procedure that provided assistance to alternative investment funds. A speaker at various national conferences, Ashley has also authored several Tax Alerts and was published twice in the Journal of Financial Products.
Ashley is a CPA with a license in Texas; she has a Masters in Taxation and a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University.
