Social Entrepreneur & Global Shaper, Founding Curator of the Cartagena HUB (WEF) – Entrepreneur in Residence at The Harvard University Innovation Lab (2012-2014) she Co-Founded ESCALA, a social enterprise that promotes social mobility by giving affordable access to college education to low and middle income families in Latin America using micro-savings plans and fomenting financial literacy – In 2015 with ESCALA she won the VENTURES “Grandes Negocios” Entrepreneurship award. – In 2018 Andrea was appointed Executive VP of the Carlos & Sonia Haime Foundation (FCSHaime) after 10 years of working as Executive Director of this Colombian family foundation, leading through a participative and social-inclusive methodology important community and grass-root efforts for vulnerable communities in Cartagena.
With extensive knowledge of Colombia’s non-profit sector and poverty eradication Andrea recently transitioned the FCSHaime to a second level organization and transfered the legacy and all community programs to the Foundación Serena del Mar where she serves as Vice Chair of the Board. She is also responsible for leading Serena del Mar Sustainability strategy, Colombia’s largest real-estate development knows as “La Cuidad Soñada” and the construction/operation ramp-up of the Centro Hospitalario Carlos Haime as a Member of the Executive Committee and the Board. The Carlos Haime Hospital is a a 400-bed high complexity hospital being built by the FCSHaime and operated by la Fundación Santa Fe de Bogota.
