Anbinh Phan is responsible for government relations to advance Walmart’s sourcing goals, focusing on responsible and global sourcing, supply chain and trade, and development.

Joining Walmart in 2017, Anbinh leads in government relations advocacy to create an enabling environment to achieve Walmart’s goal of reducing forced labor and advancing the responsible recruitment of vulnerable migrant workers. In addition, Anbinh leverages stakeholder engagement in key global sourcing markets to reduce cost and increase sourcing opportunities for Walmart global sourcing leads. She also advances Walmart’s Environmental Social Governance (ESG)/ Shared Value objectives through internal and external stakeholder engagement related to responsible business conduct. Anbinh was on the working team that drafted and launched Walmart’s first human rights statement, co-led the development and design of Vriddhi- a multi-year multi-million dollar commitment to train 50,000 MSMEs in India, and led Global Sourcing team trips to India and Vietnam. She is also is active with the Leadership Group for Responsible Recruitment and the Seafood Task Force.

Anbinh has a background in law, human rights and international trade. She has worked for various NGOs, including Human Rights First and Boat People SOS. She also worked as an economist at the U.S. Treasury Department, Office of International Trade and Investment, focusing on trade preference programs and U.S. free-trade agreements. She serves as a board member of Chab Dai, a nonprofit in Cambodia combatting human trafficking.

Anbinh received her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center and a Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs, where she focused on economics and international relations. Anbinh holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Pomona College, where she studied abroad at University College, Oxford University.
