Amadou Gallo Fall, a native of Senegal, is leading the NBA’s efforts to grow the game and build the NBA business in Africa. He oversees the NBA’s grassroots basketball development initiatives and its partnerships with marketing, media and consumer product companies. In August 2015 the NBA hosted the first NBA game on the African continent in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Fall has been working in this capacity since January 2010, following a 12-year career in the Dallas Mavericks Front Office. He is based at the NBA Africa office in Johannesburg.

Fall previously worked for the Dallas Mavericks as Director of Player Personnel and Vice President of International Affairs. He served as the team’s goodwill ambassador internationally and oversaw their scouting assignments. He traveled to Africa as an integral part of the Basketball without Borders camp, the NBA and FIBA’s global elite basketball development program that also uses the sport to create positive social change in the areas of education, health and wellness.

He has also launched SEED (Sports for Education and Economic Development) Foundation (1998) and SEED Project (2003) committed to providing educational opportunities for youth, creating social awareness and encouraging economic development through sports in Senegal.

Fall is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of the District of Columbia where he played center on the basketball team.
