Purpose of Position

Concordia is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, member-based organization dedicated to actively fostering, elevating, and sustaining cross-sector partnerships for social impact. As the preeminent nonpartisan forum and the largest event that is taking place alongside the United Nations General Assembly, the Concordia Annual Summit in New York convenes top influencers and decision-makers through action-oriented programming. With a focus on the Americas, Europe, and Africa, Concordia’s Regional Summits explore the role of regional affairs in international relations. By providing an international platform, these summits elevate unique cross-sector perspectives and identify the support of the international community.

With oversight of the entire Concordia community, the Partnerships Department manages the organization’s Programming Partners, Programming Sponsors, and Individual and Patron Members. Working closely with these individuals and organizations on a regular basis, the department curates topical content aimed at amplifying important initiatives, identifies opportunities for partnership, supports early-stage partnership design and implementation, and ultimately deepens collaboration across sectors, industries, and geographies. 

Responsibilities

Strategic Partnerships

  • Liaises with Programming Partners to articulate partnership development objectives and develop actionable steps, in support of their goals and in line with their Concordia Annual Summit and Concordia Lexington Summit engagement, to deliver on Concordia’s mission.
    • Maintains and refines subject matter expertise as it pertains to the design, structure, implementation, and evaluation of cross-sector collaboration to support year-round partnership development goals of Programming Partners.
    • Manages all Programming Partnerships engagements and tracks deliverables of engagements across the organization.
    • Provides timely and accurate reporting of Programming Partnership and In-Kind engagements pipeline during weekly development meetings.
      • Senior Manager: leads on defining Programming Partnership strategy for forthcoming year, following a thorough audit of: applied versus offered benefits, collected data on partnering objectives/priorities, direct interviews with confirmed and prospective sponsors, and other desk research.
      • Manages communications and marketing campaigns, in close coordination with Concordia’s Comms team, on all things related to Programming Partners, inclusive of community newsletters, updates, and engagement communications.

  • Operations
  • Plans and schedules meetings and appointments related to Programming Partnerships and In-Kind stakeholders with other teams and/or external stakeholders.
  • Supports and advises junior team members, particularly related to In-Kind partnerships.
  • Liases and coordinates directly with counterpart overseeing Programming Sponsorship strategy.
  • Develops and enhances Programming Partner packages, tailoring packages to meet unique programming partner needs.
  • Assists in copy-editing documents and materials, as needed.
  • Updates relevant department data using project management tools employed by the department, to include: Salesforce, Asana, and any other internal task tracking tools.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree and/or 4+ years working experience in partnership building and relationship management. 5+ years relevant work experience required for Senior Manager position.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Passionate about Concordia’s mission and actively informed on foreign affairs, current affairs, and the social impact space.
  • Experience working with high-level contacts, budgets, events recruitment and comfortable interacting with high-profile cross-sector leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, and respond flexibly to changing demands.
  • Strong listening and verbal/written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences, both internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required, experience with InDesign, WordPress, and/or Salesforce preferred.
  • Deadline-oriented and calm under pressure.
  • Willingness to work late nights and weekends in lead up to special projects and international events.
  • Spanish or French foreign language skills are a plus.
