Concordia has offices in NY, NY and Palm Beach, FL. The candidate is ideally located in NY, NY or Palm Beach, FL.

 

Purpose of Position

Concordia is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, member-based organization dedicated to actively fostering, elevating and sustaining cross-sector partnerships for social impact. As the preeminent nonpartisan forum and the biggest event that is taking place alongside the United Nations General Assembly, the Concordia Annual Summit in New York convenes top influencers and decision makers through action-oriented programming. With a focus on the Americas, Europe, and Africa, Concordia’s Regional Summits explore the role of regional affairs in international relations. By providing an international platform, these summits elevate unique cross-sector perspectives and identify the support of the international community.

Working directly with the CEO, the Executive Office drives the strategic vision of the organization, ensuring adherence to its mission. The department leads both the day-to-day and longer-term operations and strategic direction of the organization.  This includes human resources, finances, data management and security, and logistics, in addition to overseeing Concordia’s Leadership Council, Advisors, and Senior Advisors.

Responsibilities

  • The Director of Operations will help support daily operations across the organization, in addition to implementing strategic vision of the organization and strengthening the foundation. This role will report directly to our CEO, and will help implement needle-moving initiatives including: Request for Proposal (RFP) process and strategic networking.

  •  

Finance

    • Manages an Operations Coordinator to ensure finances are running smoothly
    • Tracks annual operational budgets daily
    • Implements strategic vision of the organization, including a 2022 RFP process

 

Human Resources

  • Develops, enhances, and executes an operational plan, which includes processes, technology, and team development
  • Manages vetting, interviewing, and onboarding processes for intern, contractor, and employee HR process
  • Drafts Professional Development Plans (PDPs) for Communications and Executive Office departments, joins all PDP calls within the organization
  • Implements policies and procedures specifically for recruiting, managing and retaining staff, contractors, interns, and volunteers
  • Maintains staffing plan for Concordia with clear role descriptions
  • Creates HR procedures and policies needed for compliance and submits to CEO for approval and adoption; Informs and Updates and ensures such policies and the ethics of business operations in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Tracks employee vacation, personal time, and sick leave

 

Operations

  • Supports Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Legal Agreement review with partners, sponsors, and member base
  • Supports and tracks organization processes 
  • Ensures up-to-date development record-keeping in our in-house database
  • Supports Executive Office Associate in the creation of documents for board development and governance

 

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 7+ years of working experience 
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
  • Passionate about Concordia’s mission and actively informed on foreign affairs, current affairs, and the social impact space
  • Experience working with high-profile cross-sector leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, assume responsibility, and respond flexibly to changing demands
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing schedules, priorities, and circumstances on the fly
  • A forthright communicator who asks questions when tasks are unclear or they learn of a schedule conflict
  • Verbal/written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences, both internally and externally
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Quickbooks preferred
  • Deadline-oriented and calm under pressure
  • Flexibility with working hours to effectively support an executive while traveling globally
  • Foreign language skills are a plus
