Concordia has offices in New York, NY, and Palm Beach, FL. The candidate can be fully remote and located in the U.S., UK, or Colombia, but travel to the U.S. is required.

 

Purpose of Position

Concordia is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, member-based organization dedicated to actively fostering, elevating, and sustaining cross-sector partnerships for social impact. As the preeminent nonpartisan forum and the largest event that is taking place alongside the United Nations General Assembly, the Concordia Annual Summit in New York convenes top influencers and decision-makers through action-oriented programming. With a focus on the Americas, Europe, and Africa, Concordia’s Regional Summits explore the role of regional affairs in international relations. By providing an international platform, these summits elevate unique cross-sector perspectives and identify the support of the international community.

The Communications Department is responsible for strategizing, shaping, and implementing all aspects of communications. Establishing Concordia’s “voice,” the Communications Department ensures that messaging is consistent, compelling, and impactful, while elevating the organization’s mission and work. Working closely with the Partnerships, Programming, and Executive Office departments, the Communications Department creates all external-facing materials, including the website, reports, membership decks, articles/blogs, and email campaigns. The team also oversees all aspects of branding and design, relationships with press and media—including media partnerships—and social media. The team consists of a Senior Communications Manager, a Communications Manager, and an Associate.

Responsibilities

      • Junior copywriter who is able to craft sharp, compelling copy primarily for Concordia’s social media platforms with potential to assist with other written materials. 
      • Establish a social voice for Concordia, and create and implement a social media editorial calendar. 
      • Maintain dialogue with Concordia’s social media followers, engaging in online conversations and comments to elevate Concordia’s brand and voice. 
      • Provide as-needed copywriting support for Concordia’s marketing materials, including writing promotional copy for email campaigns, the website, and blog posts. 

 

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s in English, communications, journalism, marketing, political science, public policy, social media, or related field.
  • Excellent communications skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) and attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Google Drive and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of WordPress, social media monitoring tools, and Salesforce is a plus. 
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule.

  • Highly organized and able to multitask, while maintaining clear and proactive flow of communication and ownership of tasks.
  • Someone who is looking to build their copywriting portfolio through working for one of today’s leading social impact nonprofits.
  • An avid follower of domestic and international news.
  • Deeply interested in public-private partnerships.
